How many $300 pre-orders will Slate receive?

I have to think they aren't figuring on 80k preorders by the 24th, because that would soak up probably the whole first year's production capacity, and maybe more. Yes, factory capacity is stated to be higher, but they won't reach full rate right away. If they were projecting as many preorders as they can make in the first year, you'd see windows stretching to December. So fat there seem to be a minority that are showing Q3, and some still TBD, though that may be more logistical and have to do with getting the trucks close enough to people for them to pick up.

They already announced they had 10,000 pre orders on the first day, 7,000 got the first shift which I got, so the first two selections are not viable.

I was thinking 15k-25k, so I chose to be optimistic and guess 20k-40k.

That's 10-20% conversion rate on reservations even with the loss of the tax credit, which seems pretty good.

I'm going 40,000-79,999. If they did 10k in the first few hours on the first day, I feel safe hoping they'll at least quadruple that number over the month. Plus, that option has the biggest bucket of values, so from a purely random statistical perspective, it's a solid bet.

Only since the 10,000 was the only figure they gave for the first day that is why I only said first day, i am sure they got many more than that, I hope on the 24th they let us know how many they now have.
may give us a little more security knowing how many are willing to risk $300. But the big number will be actual orders.. that is TBD

I don’t think the orders will really take off until the first 10k are delivered and on the road. So many people are in a wait, see and test drive mentality.

That's my guess too. I'm hoping next Monday they have a blow out announcement. We'll see. "Coming soon"
