I think the Cargo Kit is something different, with a full bulkhead between the cab and the bed.

So far the option seems to be getting the whole kit and not installing the seat.

The 5-passenger SUV Kits don't suit my purposes. I don't want to spend $5,000 on a kit that includes a seat and rollbar I won't use.

I'm hoping to end up with accommodations for two people in front and some dogs in the back.

I'd prefer something like this Dog Park Special Canine Carrier Combo:
• Cargo Kit Topper
• No seats or rollbar
• Openable / pop-out windows for ventilation (dogs' gotta sniff)
• Midgate (front-of-bed partition the height of the bed)

Probably would need some sort of mat back there for Rover and Lassie to grip their paws onto instead of the plastic. I've used artificial turf on plywood for that in the past.

I wouldn't mind a topper without windows if that's all they offer. Those can be added as a DIY project.

Yup, topper without seat and rollbar. Prefer the SuV top, but if not an option either the cargo version or just wait for 3rd party. Need to take care of my furry kids.

That's a great idea! It would be like having an old two-door Bronco and taking out the back seat. The vanlife crowd might like something like that, too. I can see that space being built out for a camper.
