Yeah, I was thinking of that as I typed it...It will be the King's English for a while (William, etc), I'd think. But, the Queen's Egglish seemed punny, so...yeah.

Do you really ever lose it though? I'm still fluent in redneck and 3 dialects of hillbilly. It comes back quickly.

well, if a Brother or Cousin visit, by the time we get back from the airport the old accent is back.

I now live in Central-FL, no "hillbillys", its flat here, just "swampbillys".
Even I am a redneck these days tho, farmers tan all the way.

BUT, we all drive pickups! Tacoma, Chevy, F150's by the dozen, even a few Nissan.
Me? I miss my very-old Mazda-B2200, first pickup I ever bought, probably still the best.

I just need to convince them-all idiots to give up the gasoline-habit.
A Slate in my yard might do it.
Especially since it would have its own solar-charger,
so "empg" ==> infinity

Many of us have that one small truck (I had an '85 Nissan Hardbody once) that we miss (manual locks, windows, sunroof, back slider window, manual tranny). I've had every size truck since then...

All of my snooty neighbors have pickups -- Tundra's, F150's, Sierra's, Lightnings, etc. Only one or two of us actually carries anything in the bed or tows anything even monthly. The rest are simply commuter monstrosities as next gen (Platinum) status symbols, I'd think.

Looking forward to them walking down the road to check out the blank Slate some day...their cognitive dissonance will be tasty.

How many have the seats folded down in their SUVs always carrying a full load (73 cubic feet) of cargo, or seven (7) kid soccer players? If you get converts, all your neighbors will be driving their Slates around empty too. And towing? Lol, my wife's 1.9L Z3 can tow a 1,000 pounds.

How many have the seats folded down in their SUVs always carrying a full load (73 cubic feet) of cargo, or seven (7) kid soccer players? If you get converts, all your neighbors will be driving their Slates around empty too. And towing? Lol, my wife's 1.9L Z3 can tow a 1,000 pounds.

We ARE the bandwagon...but it was interesting to see that my closest 5 neighbors only had 1 truck (mine) 5 years ago....now all 6 do!

I used my lack of a truck (that lasted a whole 15 months) to recently justify buying a 6x10' utility trailer! Then I traded an older SUV in on another truck! (I have quietly kept the trailer too, though)...What? (...sometimes you need to haul stuff...and I only had to go rescue my wife on our stranded golf cart with the trailer once to prove out!)

It's the many commuters driving to work, no carpool, probably an office job so nothing in the bed, they probably never have put anything in the bed, in big 4 door trucks, often with 4wd, lifted, and knobby tires, on the freeway going 80 mph, day in and day out that is wasteful. Too shiny to have ever used those knobby tires and 4wd.
It's not that they aren't hauling something today, it's that they never haul anything, and commute an hour or more each day in a gas guzzler for no reason.
