His dream truck is out there. Took this photo a while back of someone in town that drives this monster.

It's an F650 pickup truck.

Then we all should drive the electric Fiat 500e? Or maybe mandate the Bolt? Both are small cars with 125 MPGe or above.
E90, if you want to drive a Fiat 500e, go for it! I’ve driven one, and they’re surprisingly fun. Bit too range limited for my liking though.

If you want to keep going with false equivalences instead of having a nuanced conversation though, I’ll probably bow out.

He could probably get 3 car seats in the second row. Would need some righteous power running boards to drop low enough for kiddos, I’d think? Powerstep probably makes some…

Few Ferrari owners drive them as a daily driver.
Part of the point here is many of us are choosing the slate because it isn't a 4 door truck with a hood at least 4 feet off the ground. The slate is light enough and efficient enough to actually be a reasonable daily driver. If I was given a newer ICE pickup truck, I'd be looking at what I could get selling it or trading it in.

This is a straw man argument, no one was mandating anyone drive anything.
The comments on the post were just pointing out facts/observations. Efficiency, fatal accident numbers, and road damage are all facts you can look up.
If we don't talk about these things than no one can make an informed decision.
Now if after talking about it you decide that it's worth the extra money and damage because you just like your big truck go right ahead. You're now making an informed decision.
But don't try to use logical fallacies to "win" an argument so you feel better about a decision you've made. That's called confirmation bias and doesn't promote growth and keeps you from making informed decisions.

No, it's not. Just let people drive what they want to drive and stop talking about efficiency with respect to percentage of vehicle utilization. You can use all the internet psychobabble buzz words like confirmation bias and equivalent fallacy, blah blah blah, but you and Dorbiman can't refute the fact that daily driving a 4-door sedan with just the driver and empty trunk, or a Minivan/SUV with just a driver and no other passengers or large cargo (with the seats folded down) is any different than driving a pickup truck with the bed empty.

If you don't like full-size pickup trucks great, but owners of such vehicles have no less a right or reason to drive the vehicle of their choice in any manner of utilization they choose than you. The facts and observations are full-sized pickups are a reality and people own and drive them. How those people use them is their concern and not yours. I'm absolutely sure that if we were to examine your life, there is certainly something that we could find you could do more efficiently.

Stop trying to lecture people and think you live some better-informed life then they do; you don't. LOL.
From your reply, I'm not sure you read my post. Oh well, hope you have a nice day.

If Slate does a sub 400w inverter I’ll be highly disappointed considering a ford Maverick eco boost has a 400w. Even though many believe it’s much less at the plug, with some seeing trips at 200w

Tripping at 200W? That hardly seems like enough to power my mobile DJ cart and portable speakers!!

Hope you're wrong on the max power of the inverter. 500 watts is paltry. I think I have one that can do 1000 watts off a lead acid battery and it was only like $50 at the time.
Oh I'm not saying it is, just worried it might be.

So how about people who drive Ferraris? Completely pointless cars when efficiency is considered.
Ferraris...now we talkin about Ferraris? (in my best Allen Iverson "Practice" rant)

Come on, you don't see a strawman, ad Hominem, equivalency fallacy, confirmation bias statement when you see one? :surprised:
I'm a glass-half-full pragmatist, and I only made a B+ in my Freshman Philosophy/Logic class a few decades ago - alas, my sense of humor is probably not obvious. So, I have a forum handicap. Work with me.
