My wife's new tucson was constantly telling me to "take a break" on our last long drive. I guess its already in the car but without the ability to lock you out or go into limp mode. This definitely sucks.
My friend's 2025 Camry has this and I looked into it a little bit. At least for these it is monitoring steering wheel inputs. If it thinks you are weaving too much on a long drive it'll assume you're getting tired and suggest you pull over for a while. His has a little coffee cup picture.

Does your wife's Tucson have the little thing above the steering column that does eye tracking? The Camry didn't have that IIRC.

I can think of lots of tech that I would not want society to use for that purpose.

The first that comes to mind is Terminators.
The movie left out the real creator of Skynet was... Elon MUSK!

The laughable part of this thread is that (1) anyone who wants to know anything about you already does, and (b) nobody wants to know anything about you.

If (b) were true, we wouldn't be constantly tracked, online and in person. Other car companies wouldn't be collecting terabytes of data on their drivers, because no one would be buying that data. That's plainly obvious, thus, (1) also must not be true.

TL;DR

Eye, head, and face tracking must be standard in all 2027 cars to monitor safe driving, fatigue, and intoxication.
I can see an increase in the sales of duct tape. Standard way of fixing check engine lights was to just cover it with tape, same for laptop cameras.
