Slate Auto Pickup Truck Drive Unit / Motor supplier appears as Cascadia Motion / BorgWarner in Slate prototype video cascadia

Slate Auto Pickup Truck Drive Unit / Motor supplier appears as Cascadia Motion / BorgWarner in Slate prototype video cascadia-slate-driveunit

From this screen shot (00:37 seconds) it clearly shows a modified Cascadia Motion Integrated Drive Module. Cascadia is a US-based automotive supplier, subsidiary of BorgWarner, that develops and manufactures inverters, traction motors, and geartrains for various electric vehicle applications.

Earlier it was reported that the drive unit is produced by JJE Technologies, with facilities in Shanghai China and the US. While Slate was most likely experimenting with multiple suppliers during the development phase, let's hope that Slate continues to source from USA suppliers.

I doubt that's a Slate motor in the video.

It certainly isn't a Slate taillight.

Good point. I am curious about some of the components in the Slate. Hopefully they’re relatively easy to source for long term maintenance and repair

I noted this as well. As I indicated it may have been an earlier prototype and Slate just slapped on generic tail lights from the parts bin. In other footage it definitely looks like platform, dash, and front end is legit.

Yes.

However, it could be a Slate test vehicle. They don't necessarily look like the Slate Truck we've all seen, but a "Slateboard" unibody lacking the body panels or some other kind of mockup that roughly approximates what the Slate Truck would eventually be. It could be video from 18 months ago.

It could be out of a f'n Telo.

??Who knows??

Yes, there's a mix of legit and WTF, like stock footage of women giggling and eating pizza and shopping for jewelry and perfume. This YT channel is known for AI type of content. This isn't the first Slate video they've grunted out.

actually, it looks to be from SA test vehicle:

...from this post:

The dead giveaways are the roll bar, the door cut-out shape and the taillight. So... that Cascadia Motion component is indeed from a Slate tester.

Just having 90%+ American parts content should help with that.
