LOL...Your observation of frunk size reminds me of Joe Raiti, a well-established You Tuber of Raiti's Rides, who humorously mentions that he describes the size of car compartments in terms of how many candy bars can fit in them. I find his reviews quite in depth and entertaining. Cannot wait for his review on the Slate truck!

I voted "other".

An anti-Tesla hatchback for everyone. Low tech with no stupid gagetry. Smooth lines for efficiency. Front-drive coz that's what most buyers expect - or a compelling reason to show their rear drive can work in the snow as well as front drive.

Yet maybe the frunk area with all the wide-open between suspension components isn't just for an AWD truck. It could also allow a future front-drive car to share the same platform.

I think of the frunk as being akin to the lockable storage compartment in the Honda Ridgeline. Boy that was handy and I miss it.

I would love a Yaris/Fit/Fiesta/Micra replacement with Slate simplicity.
Call it the CURB.

What I want is a small hatchback. Round off the front a bit more at the cost of some frunk room, use just a front motor, keep a lot of the same interior parts, use just the small battery configuration so you can shorten the overall length, and something like a twist beam rear axle. It could even look like a 75% scale version of "fastback" version of the SL8. There's a lot of Yaris and Fit owners out there looking for a replacement.

More or less the kind of platform I'm hoping for, though I'd be terribly disappointed to learn it was FWD. Always seems like wasting an advantage of a native EV platform (motor mounting basically being free vs. driveshafts and ICE positioning). Admittedly, RWD is just a magical concept I revere in theory as a car enthusiast and haven't experienced personally.

I get it. I'm a lover of RWD too, but for ultimate compactness FWD might make more sense since an unpowered rear axle can shorten up the rear end. It depends on what they would do with the front end. I'd love to see what they come up with though.
