Will be really cool if like option someone build an ER system..! Like an generator with a small tank to recharge the batteries in remote places.
That’s the amazing thing with this concept..!!!
Will be a huge success with customization and options.!!! The imagination is the limit..!!

If you want an EREV, look at the Scout.

If you want just a simple small truck for local commutes then the Slate will do the job.

I have the Ford Mach E and its 70kWh battery is more than enough for daily commuting plus road trips.

I have a reservation on the Scout as well to transition from the Mach E; but now I am looking at the SUV version of the Slate for a lot less $$$.

The bed is twenty square feet. How about a solar bed cover (tonneau) for boosting the battery when the truck is parked in the sun.

I live in a place called "The Valley of the Sun", so there's that to consider.

ZF just announced a generic Range Extender (eRE) and the electric Range Extender plus (eRE+) . Maybe they could create an option for Slate

I plan on building a generic range extender to sit in the back. I've got an odd commute that usually involved around about 165 miles each way, but the car typically sits for 3-4 days before I come home. I plan on using some typical home storage LFP batteries, a small inverter and a small charger, to allow the thing to charge while it sits in the parking lot. And I can charge my portable charger up for free at home on my solar.

The problem is they are not that good, if you did a small one like a bmw style i3 rEX you would only be getting like 15 miles per gallon. You would need a full size drive system to be efficient.

With the extended range pack, why not find public fast chargers or even Tesla Destination L2 chargers along the way ?

BTW are you an active private pilot ?

Of course, having fast chargers is an option, but they're not going to be nearly as cost effective as charging using my solar power from home. Unfortunately the car sits in a remote parking lot with no charging options while I'm at work, so I'm trying to be creative. But with a 2-4 day sit, it's not going to take a huge inverter setup, even just a level 1 charger would work for while it sits.

I am a pilot, haven't flown any GA in a decade plus. Not sure I'd even step foot in a single engine piston again.

I am just starting my PPL training at a senior age as I near retirement.
Just passed 3rd class FAA medical - took 6 months due to my age!
My dream is to own a Piper single engine and be able to get to remote fly fishing destinations when I retire.

Here's something that might be better than carrying around extra batteries:

EV Solar charger while on the road

20 miles a day is woefully low for that cost, not to mention where I live, that would be basically useless all winter. Neat concept though

For the same price, I could build you a battery/inverter/charger combo to do more than that per day.
