I thought that is a laser coordinate measuring machine to check the final dimensions of formed-up chassis. Would have loved to have that technology when I was spec'ing out CMMs back in the day when I was the equipment planning engineer for Lockheed's metrology lab in B'more. We had one that used nitrogen bearings with a ruby-tipped measuring arm (and that was considered old tech at the time - LOL).Just look at the quality of the frame welds using the laser welding robots! The 3D laser scanner below locates parts down to 1 micron precision, which is the decimal equivalent of 0.000001 meters.
