Only pointing out there’s no real time communication like with every other vehicle integrated phone app.I'm not really sure what you're getting at? The app is "mobile" because it's a phone app.

Maybe it's a trauma response from GM selling my data, but I consider this a feature not a bug.Only pointing out there’s no real time communication like with every other vehicle integrated phone app.
'Car Dashboard' - looks interesting. What functionality would that app provide for the Slate? Or any car for that matter. Because I'm guessing that the features it advertises - maps, playlists - are already available on the mobile device without the app.If not, there’s an app called car dashboard that I’ve been meaning to try.

It wouldn’t be to add function to the slate itself, it would just turn your phone into a more easily manageable display and user interface while driving. Like Apple CarPlay and android audio does.'Car Dashboard' - looks interesting. What functionality would that app provide for the Slate? Or any car for that matter. This is what I'm expecting, including a feature to help you locate nearby charging stations. If I have to use my phone, I’m hoping at least the app will turn into a pseudo-CarPlay or android auto screen. Just to make a more driver friendly user interface. If not, there’s an app called car dashboard that I’ve been meaning to try.

Went to site, hoping to see something inspiring, apparently you may get to see but only after you pay, not even a good description what to expect. Need to delete the app. ☹This is what I'm expecting, including a feature to help you locate nearby charging stations.
Interesting points here. The idea is things like carplay change up the interface, big, easy to see at a glance icons, where a phone maybe fits 8 of them, so it's less of an issue using it while driving, and limited app availability, no games etc while in driving mode. I'm assuming the Slate app will do this. Just like android auto/carplay, let you use the nav app of your choice(with charging stations), play music, maybe you hear your text messages, and take calls on speakerphone.
Are you referring to the app I shared a link to?Went to site, hoping to see something inspiring, apparently you may get to see but only after you pay, not even a good description what to expect. Need to delete the app. ☹
He’s describing exactly what CarPlay and android auto already do.Interesting points here.
I wonder how that would go over? I'm not sure that restricting access to one's phone/mobile would be a big hit. I mean, I understand the liability here. But still... 🤔
Opps, yesAre you referring to the app I shared a link to?
