At first I thought this was an Early Slate Pre-Production Prototype Mule because of the weathered appearance. But then I noticed that the Slate has the new Mirrors and Bosch Stickers on it. From what I was able to look up Bosch Engineering offers a variety of testing and validation services. Pictured here I think it’s one of their battery testing they do in a variety of weather conditions and in this specific scenario it seems to be extra stress testing with load testing. I will say I am glad that Slate is torture testing and leaving no stone unturned to create the most reliable affordable vehicle possible. I don’t think the fit and finish is representative of the final production vehicle though even if a later prototype or even early validation vehicle. According to the original post this was spotted in Pennsylvania testing: https://www.reddit.com/r/F150Lightning/s/HZkqtEvvu6

I like the look of the taller mirrors on this one. Not only are they practical, they just make the vehicle look more respectable and "truck-looking" without actually making the vehicle bigger.

I hope they add the tall mirrors as an option in the Slate maker.

I love big tall mirrors on a pickup truck, I’ll take them over small mirrors any day

I’m guessing Slate has made it efficient enough where they can comfortably hit a 150 mile range epa with the larger mirrors
That would be cool.

What isn't cool is stupid autocorrect changing "aero" to "auro" in my post

Lol, I was wondering if this was something everyone else knew about that I was going to have to figure out 🙃

The power is in your hands! Well, fingertips. :)

Still & all, and auro sounds interesting. When I typed 'auro' my spell checker changed it to 'auto' so the word 'auro' is not recognized as a legitimate word in English. Not sure how your autocorrect worked there.

Hehe... I know how to edit a post.

I'm in Jakarta right now. My tablet probably pulled the autocorrect from Bahasa Indonesia. However, "auro" is an extremely uncommon term for "gold". The proper term is "emas" or "mas".

I think "auro" is from Flores island where more Portuguese loan words are used. Gold is "ouro" in Portuguese.

EDIT: spelling :)

It has the charger on the passenger side, and the rear window area looks different. I think this is an early prototype, test mule, whatever you call it.
I noticed that too, initially wondering why they were blocking the charger since the port is supposed to be on the driver's side.

I would opt for the black color if available. I'd never wash it. Also, the charge port on the passenger side would fit with my garage.
