Electric passenger side mirror would be the one option I might want if it is available.
You don’t want to do the whole hand gesture thing to the car wash employees to help them get the mirror in the right spot again?

i think i would take it stock and would leave it stock.

I dont need speakers and using my phone to nav is fine for me. I hate the brightness of giant screens in new cars when driving at night.

If there is a way for the dock to prevent my phone from locking when docked I would want that. I control my phone using voice commands anyway.
Excellent observation on the phone locking out when idle. Mine seems to do that in 15 seconds (I know it can be adjusted). I hope the software techs at Slate get it right and have an option not to let your phone lock whenever the app is running. I have a security camera app and I set it to stay active, meaning the phone won’t sleep. But this also runs the iPhone battery down. Not an issue with your iPhone when docked in the Slate. Now if they only offered wireless charging. Ooops- asking for too much here. 😳

I expect just the wrap (see my profile picture) and a hitch. I'll maybe add on a few things after I've owned it a little while.

Honestly, my biggest concern is that the phone cradle seems to have a usb-c port on it, and I have an older iPhone with a lightning port. This means I might want to upgrade my phone so I have to consider that as part of the purchase.

The only thing I will be adding to my hopeful Slate will be a set of speakers, and that's about it. I like the idea of a stripped down vehicle. It's how I've always bought them. So, no worries for me

Same on the speakers. I'll also hardware a dashcam and a power dimming rear view mirror (depending on how the OEM one is mounted). As long as I have way-too-loud music I'll be happy in whatever! I'll DIY as much as I can.

I'm hoping that cable isn't hard-installed into whatever is on the other end. I know the constant vibration and mis-handling by passengers ruins my android auto USB-C cables and I find them getting loose after about a year or so. Hopefully it's just plugged into an actual port in the truck and you can change it over to a lightning cable. Giving us the specs on whatever the phone-mount-to-dashboard connection is would be even better so we can change the dock out if needed.

I'm worried that once I start accessing the kid's inheritance, I may not be able to stop. :)

I always tell our son that his inheritance will include a number of fully appreciated assets. Any new vehicle, tractor, etc we chose to buy with potential inheritance money will be fully appreciated by his Mom and I.

The SuV/Cargo back is my only must have, for the dogs. still on the fence as far as battery upgrade. Figure anything else will be Dyi after the fact. This assumes I still have my Tundra. Should I decide to unload that prior to Slate (unlikely) just might have to treat myself more generously.

I suspect wireless charging will be an early 3rd party accessory or DYI. That is a popular mod on the Tundra forum.

USB cables are prone to failure and need occasional replacement, so I'm assuming the Slate's phone dock will be designed to facilitate cable replacement. I hope. It would make sense.

Phone batteries have a limited number of charge cycles, so I'd never use the phone mount unless I could remove the USB cable from it so it's not diminishing my phone battery's lifespan each and every time I dock my phone.

I don't see myself using my phone as an interface w/ the truck often. I'd prefer to have that cable tucked away in the dash.

I want a Blank Slate with maybe the extended range battery and tonneau trifold cover. I would like to put a wrap on it. Maybe down the line get some cool rims for it.

Such a horrific thing to do to people. Permanent bright light to the face.
This is probably why headlights are so bright nowadays. My father has a old Ford truck and he had to replace the halogen headlights for LED lights because other people's headlights were too bright.

I did a DIY ā€œSUV conversionā€ to my ā€˜74 GMC K1500 about 20 years ago and have used it twice for passengers. Sure, it comes out, but then it’s taking up garage space. You may have different needs but I learned my lesson and will keep my Slate basic. I might get the larger battery, depending on cost. Something to consider is storage space if you’re picturing swapping out between truck and SUV.

Good point. I could see building a little hoist in the garage to remove/install & store the SUV tops when not in use. I’ve seen people do that for Miata’s and Z3s that have the optional hard top.
