Crippleware subscription features are repugnant.

They're the kind of thing people attracted to the Slate want to avoid.

Why is this so difficult for you to understand?
Good Lord dude, you just never give up trying to make other members on this forum look bad; and you're unsuccessful here in this thread as well. You just like to argue.

If the 2026 Maverick owner decides not to buy a subscription to Ford's connectivity package he is no worse off than the 2027 Slate owner who as no ability to get equivalent tech in the Truck because Slate doesn't offer it. It's the same for either owner.

<facepalm>

Sorry I hurt your feelings. That's a by-product, not my intent.

Some people don't like subscription features and some other features the Maverick has. Just accept that and move on.

At risk of sounding like an idiot here…. How is an optional subscription that adds additional features worse than not even offering the option for the subscription and features?

It really depends on the person as to if it is or not but even then its usually a moral thing. Some people don't like needing to pay for features that their vehicle has as they believe that should be included in buying the vehicle. Some people don't like even the possibility that things can phone home so to speak.

Now you are even making less sense and people are starting to notice.
