If the Slate Truck is small enough to be driven onto one of the largest Amazon semi-trailers, would it be a potential option to take delivery of a Slate Truck at a nearby Amazon Fulfillment Center warehouse? I'm sure they would give me the Amazon Prime member special treatment (maybe a Prime decal...).

Really - I know our old diesel VW Golf was small enough to ship on a large moving van with our other stuff. And AI says a Slate Truck would fit through the rear doors on a standard Amazon-style semi-trailer that are about 7ft 8in wide and 8ft 9in tall - larger than the Slate Truck. With the Slate Truck's LFP battery and no gas tank it seems like a pretty safe load. And how nice to have it transported on an enclosed trailer vs. the open style generally used for ICE vehicles.

I've seen how Amazon handles other packages, especially packages that might be a little bit large or heavy. I agree that a bit of patina adds character, but only a bit: I'm not letting those maniacs anywhere near my Slate!

Also, they are notorious for comingling inventory and not adequately checking returns. I don't want to inadvertently take delivery of someone else's trade-in!

Tangential thought. Whatever happened to "self driving Teslas" delivering themselves?

As a former USAF C-130 navigator trained in tactical airdrop, I'm sure for the right price I could get some of my old mates to parachute Slates for you guys. You'd just need a decent size field in back of the house.

"I thought you were getting your Slate delivered today? What happened?"
"Sigh, it's stuck in a tree"

How big of a field? I got a large drainage basin behind my house that I can fly fixed wing RC planes in easily. Lets talk. 😉
