There is great value as a pleasurable experience. Certain weather conditions it is wonderful. If you haven't had the pleasure, I'm sorry. Coming back from Lake Michigan beach, some sand still on your feet, the day cooling down. Good company in the passenger seat. Might even have to run the heat on low as the night comes on. Good tunes playing.

I'm expecting to have solar panels within a year or two of an EV. Basically free miles within range of home. Tires cost more per mile. Before solar panels it is about a nickel a mile. I'm not worrying much about efficiency and cost of AC at that point, Give me my fresh air!

I think the hacker dictionary says CAB stands for cheap azz bast***? There is likely a picture of me there. But I would strongly consider aftermarket vent windows under $300. Maybe more.

Counter counterpoint. Usually car windows are in-line to the car. So if you drive fast, the air rushes by, but maybe doesn't come in. Or the front window blows into the back seat.

The vent window can be set to just allow some air in, or opened far enough to scoop the air in. You can direct it directly into the drivers face if you want.

But that manual crank is very sexy too. Very precise to put the window right where you want it. Unlike most of the power windows I've used - stop, stop, too far down. Up a little, oh too much. All while trying to drive.

Counter counter counter point. AC can be directed exactly where you want, and the temperature can be modified as well.

Additionally, Lake Superior> Lake Michigan

Hmmm, ok, maybe you have a point about some benefits of AC. Certainly since '86 (our first AC car) and '99 (AC installed in house) we have sort of become reliant on it.

BUT, I'm going to share some of my TRUTHiness about the Great Lakes. In reality, there are only four, Michigan-Huron is one big lake. It is actually so big that people can't grasp the reality, but look at the 5 mile Straits separating the two basins. And the Great Lakes office only reports one water elevation figure for the one Greatest Lake.

This also makes Lake Michigan-Huron the largest freshwater lake in the world, instead of that dang commie one that is otherwise bigger than Superior.

Sorry to pour cold water. Items required to make this happen.

Different weather striping inside window opening. Two pieces. Triangle and roll up.
Structure post to form the triangle.
Triangle window (tempered)
Latch (as yet to be designated more theft resistant that last ones)
Roll up window. (Tempered)
Window slide rails and lift bracket (to fit smaller window)

Cannot cut existing window down. Tempered glass is not cut able. This is an expensive option to design and construct.

It’s not going to happen.

Baikal wins by volume, and even would if you connect Michigan and Huron. I believe (don’t fact check me) baikal has more volume than all the Great Lakes combined!

But Superior wins by surface area, even without mental gymnastics.
By your logic… can Superior join the mega lake, via sault st Marie? Or is the difference in water level enough to disqualify it?
