I hate the dashboard!! (and I propose a redesign)

Which do you think the dashboard should prioritize, phone, tablet or radio head unit?

We haven't seen behind that panel, so not sure if it's open behind of if it's solid with stuff behind.
Closest I can find so far. Looks like the big one next to it is designed for a speaker. Doesn't mean it couldn't be the one for the double din radio.

This picture from April on the Gear Patrol site shows 3 speakers behind the 2 larger doors on the right side of the dash. Does this look like the space left is wide enough for a DIN radio? It would be awkward to reach that far for the radio, plus you couldn't access the USB ports. Hopefully they will move them anyway.

I'm assuming they're modular, mean they can be installed wherever you want in the dash. Also I believe those are Bluetooth or USB speakers that work with your phone in the phone mount.
I'm just making an educated guess.

It's a blank slate....build as plane jane as you can. Then, continue to build it for years and years like VW did with the bug.Dont change anything .Don't give in to options...that can come with accessories and aftermarket support. Keep the base model simple....reliable....plain.
My thoughts exactly. There will be plenty of options to configure this in a way that will satisfy most users- either from Slate or the aftermarket. The most attractive feature is that they will roll off the line the same- with a big or small battery. That’s why I’m so optimistic about this vehicle. Slate just needs to keep focused on making it simple and cheap, and everyone else can tailor it to their individual needs.
