Sir-Licks looked like he almost lost it. Just sayin'Does that that Slate have the standard factory height or was it lowered?
They did say "low bed height."
Looks like Sir Licks-a-Lot did a 45-degree approach angle, whereas Meatball and Susan did the head on approach. Is that grounds for disqualification? I call "do-over!"
It looks like a bed mat is kind of curled up a bit more on the right than the left which makes the bed surface look "elevated," but yeah, it's a little wonky.I noticed the tailgate on this prototype wasn't level. The right side was an inch or so lower than the bed.
The level of the floor of the bed and the tailgate. I thought I said that. They don’t line up. The right side is a lot lower than the left side. It does look like a curled mat, but I have never seen a picture of a Slate with a bed mat.I think what you are all seeing is the spoiler that's attached the top of the tail gait. That spoiler is not the flat side of the tailgate. I remember touching it during our local meet and greet of the truck. It's to help air go over the tailgate.

Definitely a bed mat, smartly installed for easy cleaning. When you’re hauling three dogs in a pickup truck, we all know what dogs doo.It does look like a curled mat, but I have never seen a picture of a Slate with a bed mat.![]()
Looks like none of these dogs had an issue with getting into the back, other then it was a strange vehicle for them.. That said, no dog should ride in the truck bed. Best friend rides up front...Man's best friends tests out the Slate truck's low bed height..
My dogs wouldn’t know how to ride in an open bed, but very common here. Many not leashedLooks like none of these dogs had an issue with getting into the back, other then it was a strange vehicle for them.. That said, no dog should ride in the truck bed. Best friend rides up front...
