i can see why they would pepper california, but these are the top states for total evs
  1. California: ~1.26 million EVs
  2. Florida: ~255,000 EVs
  3. Texas: ~230,000 EVs
  4. Washington: ~152,000 EVs
  5. New Jersey: ~135,000 EVs
Philadelphia might be a good location for people from its next door neighbor, New Jersey.

Meanwhile, I'm wondering where in the SF Bay Area they'll be going. I drove up to the event in SF, but I'd go again.

If I were Slate and I were going to do a single distribution point for starters - it would be California. Slate kind of matches the California vibe. Kind of the new VW Bus. Customize it to scream "counter culture" and you have a rolling "I'm a grunge hipster nonconformist" vibe.

No southern states except for North Carolina, which is BARELY southern. They need to come to Austin or Dallas

Ok, Sacramento and San Francisco are about 2 hours apart, Los Angeles is over 6 hours from San Francisco. San Diego is another 3 hours.
So the California ones may make some sense. There are still cities in the state that are 3+ hours from any tour site, not counting the lower population far north or far east.
I do recognize though that Texas and Florida should probably be higher on the visit list than they seem to be, but there may be logistical or other reasons they haven't got there yet. They are both in the top 5 in EV sales and population. Just my guess, but they will probably get added sometime soon, before spring unless something else is stopping them, and I expect the tours will ramp up more in spring-summer.
Part of it is how much do they really need to advertise this early if they already have enough reservations to even with cancelations sell everything they can make in the first year or more?
At this stage the tour may be more about attracting investors than customers.

I may try to go to the Los Angeles one, of course it will probably be the other end of Los Angeles, making a theoretical 1 hour drive to the close side more like 2, each way.
