With the lack of infotainment inside the truck relying on your phone for everything will there be a charging port to charge phone inside the truck ? Cant seem to find a way to charge your phone inside the truck unless the phone holder also doubles as a wireless charger. If thats the case I would assume the only way you can charge your phone would be to carry power banks which would be quite annoying .

There was a close up in a video I watched that shows a charger built into the phone holder

Yep, there's a wired phone charger built into the factory phone / tablet holder:

And a wire leads from it to a power plug behind the dash panels (seen here).

Not a fan of the hardwire. My iPhone case may skew the socket location.

I believe Slate stated that most users have a mobile power bank, so charging ports will not be standard. They will happily sell you one though!

Numerous charging pads available that will plug in USB. Doubt it will be an issue.

I'm sure there will be aftermarket items that will say, plug into the phone holder and have MagSafe...I know I'd love that.

I hope they Do Not include a wireless charging pad in the Slate. Unnecessary added expense IMHO. The ones I have in my other vehicles don’t work very well and heat my phone up to the point it stops charging.

Wireless charging is completely unneeded. The universal phone mount that comes in the slate includes a usb charging port at the bottom. No extra cable no wireless charging loss and heat gain.
