I have a few different dash cams, 3 actually. They all work well. I have one with a forward and rear facing camera. That one paid for itself and the others in a recent minor rear-end accident. It was in my Honda Odyssey. Even though the rear view was far back, you could see the car impact me, and my head snap back, while also seeing what I did up front. I plan on moving this one to the Slate.

No, I didn't win a $1M award. Ha ha, I got $250 for future doctor visits. I was fine with that. It was minor and wanted this behind me. I felt fine after a few weeks when we settled, and I feel fine today.

My other vehicle has a front and rear facing dashcam. In this case you don't see the driver. Those are good too, but I have to admit, when I was arguing with the adverse party's adjuster, seeing my head bang back made it easier to come to a resolution.
I refuse to add dash cams to any of my vehicles. IMO it is just asking to get in an accident. Karma... :CWL:

Nah…it’s an internal nanny that reminds me if I do something really stupid, it’s on camera, but in metro ATL there are crazy aggressive drivers and if any make contact, I upload the video for insurance or law enforcement use. I gave up on the idea of turning in a-holes that deliberately cut people off at 85+MPH. I’d spend 20 minutes every day doing that!

If I do something stupid, and my body is not too badly damaged, I'm going to throw the dash cam in the weeds. :)

Well, I do live in Virginia...
As an NC resident, all I know about VA cops is: keep your head down, don't exceed the speed limit, and keep a low profile. I swear they look for us! They are brutal.

EDIT: @Doctors Do Little reminded me in the next post to NOT use a radar detector. I never had one. But they have radar detector detectors. This may not matter in 2026 since most use some sort of photo/laser device. Maybe they have photo detector detector devices these days?

Make sure you aren’t packing or using radar in VA. They frown on those maneuvers

I'm thinking for many of us here on the forum, any of the Slate accessory mods are not going to be too difficult for us. I wish I was buying the SUV just so I could build the kit. It's like assembling a real-size Revell model kit. LOL.
A later purchase 😄

Nah. The Bronco does all the Slate SUV can do. 2-dr SUV and 2-dr Open-Air. It can't be a pickup truck, so it'll stay in the fleet. And the doors are designed to come off, and Ford was bright enough to mount the side mirrors on the cowl.

You've heard the acronym FUFO... The Virginia State Police came up with that one. :CWL:
