Seems like someone should (or probably already has) some kind of kit that will make this modular. Even custom-fit into the Slate dash. Good business opportunity for someone smarter than me.

EDIT: Link to this single DIN car stereo on Amazon. https://a.co/d/07SVMPj4
Well, that just went on my wishlist. It's absolutely perfect!

A din kit of some sort has been mentioned by Slate, all it would take is an injection molded piece to insert into the dash, and some kind of wiring adapter. Radios like that needing a constant on power supply is one thing that may need some creativity.

I enjoy having an AM/FM radio, but it's legacy technology which needs to be retired. We are not going to replace electronic starters with hand cranks, power windows with roll-up (let's see how many trucks ships with roll-ups), or radial tires with bias-ply. The ship has sailed.

My Slate will have roll ups.

They all come off the line identical. That means all will have hand crank windows.

Not my understanding. They are built to spec with options selected.
Your understanding is incorrect. A Blank Slate out of the factory. You can order the accessories and they are either flatpack shipped to your home and you install, or they will have their partners with Repair Pal put it together for you before final delivery.

So, yeah, you can get it delivered with the electric window accessory installed for you, but it didn’t come out of the factory like that.

I believe this is covered in the forum elsewhere, and in several videos I’ve seen.

When I read this on the personalization page, I interpreted it as referring to all customizations. My error, it seems.

"Want the SUV kit, or a wrap? We’ll install them for you before we deliver your vehicle, for a little extra. "

No worries! Better to have it cleared up rather than figuring it out when ordering.

You're not wrong! Refer to the section "Or Not"

This is noteworthy because Slate has mentioned that each truck will come off the assembly line the same, or that the SUV kit will be shipped as a "flat pack" (does the SUV cap and roll bar assembly fold flat like IKEA furniture? lol) At least that's what I recall reading somewhere on the website. Reading is hard...

The clearest explanations I have heard were in videos with Slate people. Maybe the Jay Leno’s Garage video talked about this?
Even the FAQ is not explicitly clear that productions is completely homogeneous.
