And in the Copes interview, he dared the interviewer to ask about it and they kind of went off the rails and he babbled something about it that I could not understand. It sure sounded like he was also hinting toward that inevitability.

Slate's "Second Model"?
Slate hasn't produced or delivered a first model!!
Neither did Elio or Aptera!
It will probably turn out just like the Studebaker Avanti.
Then some one in Canada will buy the name and produce
a couple hundred more.
They can have my $50.

I so desperately want to see a Slate-like hatchback/coupe someday. Mostly with a much lower roofline and weight. Sportier, better on the freeway. I don't like sitting high.
Don't really care about more power...always liked the idea of dual rear motors mirrored as the "perfect differential" (AKA, none at all), but it's probably not worth the added cost, complexity, and weight.
It's not a shaky crowdfunded venture by startup people, its run by experienced auto industry people and backed by a manufacturing consulting firm that created it as an internal client.
They haven't been promising to make the truck for years, as is sometimes claimed; they've been doing it for year. Singular. They announced in 2025, and on-schedule for deliveries by Q4 2026 (including early deliveries to some fleet customers).
They haven't raised the price, but people, even actual news sites, kept saying they did. The only thing that changed is the incentive.
"Under 20K after subtracting $7500" is "mid twenties". Arguably, it is more than mid-twenties, since $27,499 isn't really "mid-twenties". The price has never changed, and we only learned it was $24,950 last month.
Slate didn't announce a price before that, presumably in case they had to make major price-affecting changes before production, like changing battery suppliers (which they did).
Also, your use of line breaks is really weird. Is it supposed to be some kind of lyrics or poetry, or is your agent set up wrong?
