Maybe this is true for OEMs, but look into Scout, which is on a further out timeline, but has more info out. Rivian and Tesla take this approach too.
For a vehicle that is hitting production in <12 months- there isn’t much info.

I disagree about Rivian. Out of curiosity, I was looking at their upcoming small SUV and they had no real information about interior space. They had a lot of pictures of people doing interesting stuff though.

The Rich Rebuilds interview actually covered this; they wanted the conversions to use parts from the base where possible so they wouldn't just be wasting the entire back half of every cab that became an SUV.

Basically, it's almost definitely the same window!

Both this and this are over a year old. Rivian is not hiding their car at all.

Of course. In the same way this forum has a collection of "semi-public" info- other Mfgs have similar "cult" followings that get a lot more out than the manufacture publishes themsleves.

It's the same window and frame ("halo").

I think what @Driven5 was suggesting is that the window may only open when it's on the SUV kit, not when it's on the pickup cab.

Ability to open it slightly, pop-out-window style, to provide some air flow into the pickup cab would be a magnificent feature.

FWIW, Slate has shown the truck as a pickup with the rear window removed.

Perhaps it depends how one defines 'more info'... I'll grant that Scout might be better than most others, but I haven't been able to find something as fundamental as battery pack capacity, nor any type of options and accessories list, let alone an associated configurator. From what I can see, I can't say I agree about there being 'more'.

On the other hand, I disagree entirely that Rivian and Tesla are any better than any other OEM. The R1 was originally claimed production would begin in 2020, and Slate has more info available than was available about the R1 in 2019. R2 is supposed to be less than half a year from delivery, and I'd argue still has less total info available than Slate. Cybertruck was originally claimed production would begin in late 2021, and Slate has FAR more info available than was available about the Cybertruck in late 2020. I'd actually argue Tesla is even worse than the OEM's, making unannounced and unadvertised product changes at no defined interval with zero advance notice for customers.

I was thinking the mechanism for holding the glass closed might be the tailgate overlapping it, so I noted him closing glass after the tailgate was already up.

You would think out of the 4,000 questions asked for the CEO Q&A, one of the questions was, "How does the SUV tailgate glass lock?" Yet, we get answeres to "Does a 9-foot surfboard fit in the SUV", and "Does a hockey bag fit". WGAF.

Questions about how the SUV tailgate glass is going to operate and lock (when transfered from the pickup cab) has been asked by many of us since the day of the reveal. Here we are just some 8 or 10 months from Job 1 production proof vehicles and Slate releases a 12-second video that only adds confusion to the topic.

Just yesterday I received a reply (two, actually...I asked a lot of questions) to my questions for Chris' Q&A. Most of the answers, as usual, were we'll let you know once things are finalized. Here's what I got regarding the SUV tops:

"Regarding cargo and roof options, the SUV and Fastback configurations are designed as integrated systems rather than standalone shells. We’re planning different roof and cargo configurations to support a range of use cases, but specifics around window options, opening and locking mechanisms, rear defrosting, and related features will be shared closer to the order window. Those details are tied closely to safety, sealing, and certification, which is why we’re waiting to publish them until everything is finalized."
