Fries. I'll "take fries with that."
I don't know if this is the case for other cars but my electric Ford Focus is set up out of the factory to not use the upper and lower ranges of the battery, if you're out of juice there's still technically 20% battery in there but they don't let you use it and it cuts off charging at 80% capacity. I've hardly noticed any hit in range and it's coming up on 13ish years old now. Are other EVs the same? Id hope at least the slate is configured the same for longevities sakeThe only thing that has me on the fence is the battery loses capacity over time and you charge from 20-80%
so I dont need the extended battery now, but 10 years from now I might.
My current truck is 15 years old - I like to keep my cars for as long as possible.
the nissan leaf was notorious for losing range. I think manufacturers understand how to condition the battery to avoid this. I think the 20-80% being automatic is fine but then my 150 miles needs to be after the 20-80%.I don't know if this is the case for other cars but my electric Ford Focus is set up out of the factory to not use the upper and lower ranges of the battery, if you're out of juice there's still technically 20% battery in there but they don't let you use it and it cuts off charging at 80% capacity. Get the extended battery and future-proof as much as practical, especially cruising ATL.The only thing that has me on the fence is the battery loses capacity over time and you charge from 20-80%

Yeah, the 52kWh is really just not big enough.Get the extended battery and future-proof as much as practical, especially cruising ATL.
I'd have to imagine it's 150 miles of range after accounting for the battery limiting. I know the numbers don't always translate linearly but my car has ~76 miles of range with a 27ish kwh battery, the standard battery here is double that at around the low to mid 50s and double the range with 150 milesthe nissan leaf was notorious for losing range. If not, 20-80% is only 90 miles which is fine for me today and I would want to be able to exceed that when I have to.
Nice. Would you DIY the lowering kit?Things to consider later:
- yellow or orange wrap
- center+left+right dashboard speakers
- if there's an option for a volume knob for the speakers without getting an entire radio (because I just want to play music from my phone, but prefer a knob to volume buttons)
- window crank accent rings in magma
- open-air SUV kit
