Will the Slate’s 8 seconds to 60 mph be adequate for safe highway merging?

Then I see top speed is only 90mph? Really? I didn't think any modern vehicles had that low of a top speed. I realize highest speed limit is US is 85mph so technically it's fast enough, but sheesh, a vehicle that can't even go triple digits seems very unappealing, even if it is not something I need. I guess an upside to driving this thing would be that I'd never get another triple digit speeding ticket!
The Jeep Rubicon 392 is governed to 99*, so it's not a huge gap for 90. I have certainly pushed my cars beyond 90 once or twice in regular traffic, but Texas's highways are wide, flat speedways half the time.

*told this is due to the speed rating on the tires.

You guys have all been spoiled. My current ride is a '21 Seltos with the slow four and CVT. 0-60 in something under 9 seconds.

Slowest car I've owned was an '82 Chevette, auto. 0-60 in 15, 70mph top speed.
