So who will give me the first test drive? This is a questionaare:
1) Apters (my favorite thing to have, but not confident I'll ever get one)
2) Telo, the thingI really need
3) Slate, the one I can afford
4) Ford, the one that will probably be the first test drive

Made my mind up, I shall wait until Xmas 2027, then decide.

I would be careful if you get pulled over by a cop. Many times they come to the passenger window. I got pulled over in my 1970 Cougar with a 1970 license plate that was properly registered under the state program and had a current valid registration tab. He came to the passenger window which had a crank, like the vast majority of 50 year old cars. I had to unbuckle the shoulder harness, these were not well designed 50 years ago. The cop was looking annoyed. Then I reached across the big car with a console and down to the window crank. The cop drew his gun. What an idiot this cop was. The whole thing was stupid.

Might've been an idiot, but also might never have seen someone use a hand-crank window before (or have forgotten it after decades of not seeing it). I don't think that justifies threatening someone with a gun, but it's at least a potential explanation for the confusion.

You can easily reach the passenger side crank from the driver’s seat. You can also communicate to the officer you don’t have power windows.

Right. If you don't open the passenger window immediately after pulling over, keep your hands on the wheel and yell to them that you need to crank it. I'd just open it. There's usually plenty of time.

We've seen the videos of people who play games. Don't play games. Your life will be easier. Many times you'll get off with a warning.

There's plenty of time, but while they can see whether you're doing something inside the car, they can't yet see what it is you're doing... So I've always been advised, including back in my manual window days, to avoid leaning across the car and obviously rummaging or fumbling around the passenger side for some otherwise unidentifiable purpose.

ABRP says there's a section of the route that has low charger density for approximately the last.... two thousand three hundred miles of the trip to your place? Might be hard to drive my Slate there from here.
