This thread is kinda broken now. Some context was lost when my posts got deleted for... clarity, I guess.

It originally wasn't clear the above content was AI. I feel we've lost a teachable moment of healthy skepticism when linking vids like this.

I dunno I guess ya could stick Slate body panels on an SXS, maybe even an electric one. SOOOOO EXTREEEEEEME!!!!! Seems like if your looking for an extreme anything, there's better options than an affordable basic 2wd pickup. That Rivian quad motor looks like a pretty buck wild vehicle to me!

Based on personal experience, I'll say this:

Once you've owned a quad or a side-by-side you'll lose interest in using your daily-driven vehicle for off-roading adventures.

A single up-and-back day ride on the Backroad to Crown King or some similar trail will seal the deal.

My weekend spot has very uneven terrain. One time a friend came to visit in a 95 Tacoma 5MT. He was able to climb some pretty steep inclines without engaging the 4WD. It was stock with a six inch lift kit and all-terrain tires. The ground clearance and tires definitely helped.

Same friend also took me off roading on a flat trail in the same truck. It was muddy with deep potholes. I was very confused when he had a loose grip of the steering with his left hand and was busy shifting between 2nd and 3rd with his right. We were going at the same low speed under 15 mph and hitting every pothole. He was 250 lbs and sitting firm. At half his weight, I was getting tossed despite the seatbelt. I finally asked him to stay in 2nd gear and steer with both hands to avoid the potholes.

My experience and training has been to keep my hands at 3 and 9 o'clock when not shifting. I don't understand off-roaders.
