I think for warranty work, yes. But we don't actually know for sure.

I think the Slate, with its simple and (promised) easily-repaired design, will be serviceable by any competent service technician.

Certain older Toyota models are popular with mechanics because they're really easy to work on.

It may be a lead finder, but they do require certifications and training, and a level of positive reviews for a shop to join. Also require work to be warrantied, and standard rates.

It seems that way. Will Slate make warranty repair worthwhile for these shops? Or will they just be "shady?"

This answer by Jeremy Snyder in the AMA is encouraging:

We've got a platform called Slate U planned that'll include repair guides so owners and independent shops aren't locked out of servicing their own trucks. Our technical information will be available via the App or Slate.Auto including parts catalogs, wire harness schematics, diagnostics manual, service manual, owner’s manual and even bulletins. All of these are fully accessible to our owners, and Repairpal shops for free.​

Right to repair is so important to us and a big part of Slate’s ethos. We’ve have far less parts and have focused heavily on simplifying repairs to make working on Slates more accessible.​

Then you already have an opening to ask them if they have heard of Slate, and are planning on it.
Repairpal did a webinar for their shops a while back about Slate, but I don't know how many paid attention. It may take people pointing Slate out to them for "preferred" shops to actively decide to sign on as Slate shops.

You don't thing they'll replace a tie rod end or brake pads because the vehicle is an EV? That seems doubtful.

Ha! I was right. RepairPal takes 10% when they give a referral. And it's reasonable to assume that any warranty work done on a Slate would be via referral.

I live a charmed life. I've never had a warranty repair in 40 years of car ownership, 4 different cars.

I have had numerous recalls though, a few for software patches. Hopefully, we can do those ourselves.
