Interesting to see a little more of the key. I didn’t realize it was also going to be accessorizable. I think I saw one variation with a hex screwdriver that might be sized right so you could easily unscrew the panels wherever you are if you need to do some emergency maintenance away from home. Pretty cool.

Also I feel like this was the first close up I’ve seen of the spare tire mount. Seemed pretty cool with that locking mechanism beneath it.

I'd be surprised if either of those young women ever saw a car with manual windows before the Slate, or at least have real-world experience with using a vehicle that had manual crank windows. Lol.

It was Kim... she was the Tipping Point for me because she has a lot of experience with Tesla and for her to get excited about something like this speaks volumes I immediately put my reservation in yesterday after watching this. I even called slate corporate headquarters and talk to them for over a half an hour I really really want to be involved in this because I think it's going to be a big deal

I’m under 30 years old and I have real-world experience with a manual crank window. So it’s possible. Gen Alpha only will if Slate takes off.

Reminds me of a video I saw recently of some younger folks reviewing weird Cars merchandise and finding out what a 9 Volt battery is for the first time.

I have to be honest here, the manual crank windows I just see as a gimmick. Electric windows are just better. If one is an old codger like I am who grew up with manual crank windows, when electric windows became prevalent in the industry, no one my age said "Damn, I really miss those old crank windows." There is good reason why Slate has to source the manual mechanism from Brazil. Manual window drives break too.

And I just find it oxymoronic that the doors have electric locks but with manual windows, which just strengthens the gimmick aspect. If Slate never offered the Truck with manual windows, no one would ever question the use of electric windows as standard equipment. My 2-cents.

My dad was born in 24. In the 60s and 70s he was an oldsmobile man. He would order them with manual windows because he felt electric windows would probably get stuck halfway down at the worst time, like in a blizzard. I never had the guts to ask, "why would you roll down your window in a blizzard?"
