The one video where they showed a Slate with a tow hitch (the one where they towed a U-Haul trailer through the desert) had what looked like a 2" receiver. It was a pretty brief flash though, and there's still nothing on the configurator.I am hopeful for a 2" receiver option. Our bike rack uses that size and I'd rather not need the converter if I can avoid it.
Yeah, but it floats, right?Local Civic Club Parade Float for less than 10 miles, though likely over the Tow limit.
The standard bumper in the maker has a flat under the license plate, like those older pickups, but the upgraded one doesn't. Someone really should have asked Chris about where a hitch would be for towing when they had questions open for her to answer.Perhaps the the bumper has a ball mount? This is the way pickups used to be. I am fine with that. Hopefully the wiring harness will have a plug to allow the connector of your choice. I will be towing a small boat occasionally.
I did. I got a comment about how of course they are going to offer a hitch. Just keep an eye out in the maker, it will be there soon... It's still not there.Someone really should have asked Chris about where a hitch would be for towing when they had questions open for her to answer.
With 1000 lbs limit how much of a concern will that be?A proper hitch gives you the ability to adjust the ball height whereas the step bumper you are stuck with the height of the bumper.
For me, it's more for the angle of the trailer. The smallest harbor freight trailer that was perfectly level when attached to the hitch on my Shelby Cobra kit car will be tilting up quite a bit on my Slate with 2" lift. That greatly increases the risk of the back of the trailer dragging when going over bumps / driveways / speed bumps / etc. With 1000 lbs limit how much of a concern will that be?
Based on the silly answers they gave for other questions, I would expect the answer to be "On the back."Someone really should have asked Chris about where a hitch would be for towing when they had questions open for her to answer.
