If the topper connected to the cab with the bulkhead out, it would be perfect for camping occasionally. I don't need a cap frequently enough to justify storing one, so the idea of an inflatable cap is interesting to me.

Not as a full time solution. I have seen several, variety of brands, flexible type covers about town. None have been impressive, most seem ill fitting. I would not expect longevity due to weather. I was surprised how expensive in the Maker. I think one or more or my dogs would quickly modify.

More interesting, I’ve seen a couple of the Chinese aluminum caps like on Alibaba, they look nice. If Slate doesn’t deliver I’ll reach out to them.

The topper looks pretty cool and well made, but I don't have a use case for it since my Slate will have a bed cover and be my work truck.

Guy at work has one on his maverick. It's been on daily for over 2 years now. Looks brand new still. FWIW.

So you can set it up for a weekend trip and then deflated it and stick it in a tote in your garage when you're not using it.
Mine would likely deflate permanently during that trip.
