I e-mailed carsized.com and asked them to add the Slate. Response below.

“Thanks for reaching out!
We have contacted Slate and hope to get support in bringing their truck to the platform. We specially photograph all vehicles, so let’s see if there is a shortcut using their 3d models in the meanwhile.
Will let you know once we have news.
Best regards,
Carsized”

I really hope that Slate sends a prototype or at least some renders their way, the size comparison is a HUGE selling point!

The recent video proves that they're thinking about it, they know Slate buyers don't want huge trucks, so being able to compare it to other vehicles on carsized.com would be a big deal.

Any guesses on existing platforms that are smaller? I'm thinking Jeep Compass, Renegade, Patriot, Wrangler (2 door)

Existing or current? Old Toyota SR5, old Mazda B2000, old Chevy S10 are direct comparisons (but not really on carsized), old Jeep CJ is shorter length/wheelbase but greater height, obviously Minis and Miatas and the like but those aren't pickups...

A shame one of our talented ones couldn’t make a simple app to load any pic of any vehicle of interest and it properly scales for comparision.

Hard to get the scaling right with a random photo. Really need a straight on from the side distance shot, and some standard spec for scaling

Hard but not impossible. Was thinking more the existing brochure type pics and using the spec measurements. For example, the know wheelbase to picture measurent should provide the ratio for the whole pic. A crude example, I sometimes have a need of a scaled drawing for building sometime. I just build a table in a spreadsheet of XXpt=yyinches and expand from there. Maybe some smart AI program hehe.

That doesn't give you the focal length that was used and doesn't tell you the height of the [virtual] camera. The profile will change drastically depending on whether an image with the same number of pixels per inch was taken with a wide-angle lens from close up or a telephoto lens from a long way away.

Slate already has a silhouette scale to a few existing vehicles.
Maybe not as detailed as Carsized but it's a start.

All I need are the dimensions as published on the Slate website. When I learned about the Slate about a year ago, I rolled out the tape measure in my garage, saw that it fit, walked back into the house and pre-ordered.
What’s the allure of these comparison images?

Having a good comparison of the entire volume of the Slate, compared to something you have first-hand experience with. Knowing that it's smaller than a Silverado does nothing for me, but comparing to the CRV I drive every day is very useful. (it's almost identical in size +/- a few inches to my 2016 CRV)

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying!

Judging by a post in the thread that spawned this one, the Jeep Patriot will be pretty darned close to the SUV Slate. The 2-door Ford Bronco looks similar but a bit taller and with a much higher front end.

At the moment, I'm using the Element as a stand in for height, wheelbase, and general front cab visualization, though I admit that the few inches in length will make a difference in the way it feels.

The Ford Transit Courier also lines up pretty well, which is why I agree with the idea that there's potential for serious commercial use. Add a lowering kit for floor height access, a bumped up cab and bed cover for headroom, and a split rear door, and you have a serious contender.

I like this feature on carsized.com

Clicking the top banner selects a new random comparison each time.

Often the random comparison is more interesting than the original vehicles I selected.

Here's another interesting quirk on carsized.com

Begin entering "Sla..." for Slate, and look what pops up....

Slate Auto Pickup Truck Carsized In The Works 1780346303332-qv

Carsized does a search on the vehicle name, or any part of the name.
