Delivery Locations?

Aloha everyone,

Has anyone heard where the first set of delivery locations will be? I spoke w/ a Slate Agent a few months ago asking about delivery to the Island and she mentioned that delivery guidelines weren't set up yet, anyone have an update to this or any documentation where they will be making the deliveries to?

As a side note: If you are looking at shipping one to Hawai'i, Pasha is the only freightliner that will ship your vehicle and only from SD.

I can’t recall where, but I was reading that Slate will not ship to Hawaii, but will work with Hawaii buyers to have the truck delivered to the west coast where you can take the necessary steps to ship to the island(s).

Seems like the company that will ship it could be the target delivery location.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Not sure if this is true, but a YT video said only 48 states delivery.
Outside 48 states like HI, AK, PR will require the buyer to arrange transport.

One of the open questions is how direct sales work. To my knowledge, Indiana only gives Tesla an exemption.

So yeah, if they charge per mile, Carvana is going to deliver to the factory gate.

Yes, makes sense that Carvana would / offer to do the financing.

But I don't like their rate / terms so I will have my credit union cut a check when I buy it.

I’m in Hilo and had similar questions. I had hoped to get clarity with June 24 opening of orders but was disappointed with only the window “coming soon” message. I called Slate and spoke at length with a rep. I asked if I could change my profile to reflect a CA destination rather than HI. That would have left me holding the bag for the Pacific shipping. The rep discouraged that plan and recommended I wait to see if anything else develops before July 24. My 2006 Prius is fading fast and I really want the Slate to replace it.
Since then I’ve learned that the standard destination fee includes more distance locations like HI and AK. I’m assuming that there is some number of orders to these islands that will be grouped together in a window. If other islanders order I may receive mine faster as part of said group.

I’m also waiting to learn when my Slate will be delivered. I’m on Oahu. I also called Slate and they gave me the same delivery info about shipping vehicles to the islands. I think they have a plan but they need to wait for the July 24 pre-order date to know how many vehicles (individual and fleet) they will be shipping.

It looks like there are 8 members of this forum with residences in Hawaii. Four appear on the Slate orders list from last month. Hopefully there have been a few more orders since the first week that are not shown. I will probably order before the July 24 cutoff. I’m curious what the minimum order number would be.
