I've seen various comments on the base rims not looking the best, what are the chances they'll give some hubcap options? Tesla and other EV makes even have some hubcap options to improve Aero.

Maybe get some mooneyes or Caddy wire rim ones lol.

I like the look of the stockers. That being said, I'm painting mine BLOO.

As far as aerodynamics, they are already mostly flat. For looks, they from the beginning showed basically wraps for them, which would be the cheapest option, and for the 20" wheels there are aero covers and logo covers shown. I'm sure by launch there will be more options.

One of the promo vehicles had the circular trim ring removed and I liked the look of the steel wheels. I'd probably keep those and paint 'em white.

Edit: I don't know if those are the OEM steel wheels but this was a fairly early photo posted from Slate themselves:

When I knocked on the wheels when Slate was on display in DC, I concluded there were no wheel covers or hub caps, what you are seeing was the actual wheel.

I saw these wheels and wheel covers. Some are shown in different colors, and with different wraps. Most of these are on the Slate Auto site.

I like the look of the base wheels, and I believe in the ancient lost technology of "sidewall". In theory, I do think it might be nice to have lighter options than plain steel for the lower unsprung mass, etc.?
I don't think the bigger wheels look particularly good.

Also, why are those particular images "AI slop"? I can believe it, but I want to know what to look for. As far as I can tell, it's roughly the same some of the Slate Maker options, so is the accusation that Slate is using AI images or just that those designs are being imitated?

I am trying to understand the appeal of the “bronze” finish on the wheels. Is there any market research supporting demand for bronze? My opinion is black or silver would be much easier to touch up inevitable chips and scratches. I think it makes more sense to order standard steelies, so as not to further delay delivery, and then look to aftermarket for wheel and tire combinations.
