Took me a moment. That's way too funny. It takes more than just badges...

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. All those curves and waves are annoying. Why make the bed rails at an angle. I love the slate because it is simple. On the other hand, if this rendering is accurate to any extent, I think it beats the Slate in the "looks" department.

I would buy an electric maverick. But it would need to be at or below 30K.Just saw this headline and was gonna share it, but you beat me to it.
Will be exciting to see what they come out with. An affordable electric Ranger or Maverick would definitely give the Slate a run for its money and may earn my business, as excited as I am about the Slate.
I wonder how much of this has been driven by inside industry knowledge on what Slates been developing.
It would need to be low 20’s for me, and still hesitateI would buy an electric maverick. But it would need to be at or below 30K.

The truck is the long-awaited successor to Ford's F-150 Lightning electric pickup.
...
In response to this pressure, Ford and other automakers are focusing on producing affordable models on a streamlined platform, with a focus on delivering smaller electric vehicles.
Well why not? Vette and Porsche have variants.Like a real one though, right? Not a cross over![]()
If I’m honest, a reliable Ranger EV would fit my use case and I could scrap the Lightning, which is overkill except for towing every 6-8 weeks. (Going to put it to the test on Saturday!)From the sited page.
I think this article is referring to a larger F-150 sized EV, not the truck they’re supposed to announce on the 11th. It’s one of the smaller more affordable options they’re referring to in the article.
Economics. They are losing their arse on the Lightning. Surely they can scale down in all ways and make money?I think this article is referring to a larger F-150 sized EV, not the truck they’re supposed to announce on the 11th. It’s one of the smaller more affordable options they’re referring to in the article.
🤔 I wonder what made them shift their focus to the small, affordable truck?
Less about variants and more about crossovers. Everything is a crossover these days, and I'm just tired of them. They all look the same to me.Well why not? Vette and Porsche have variants.

Porsche is a brand and not a model, and they were never dumb enough to dilute the name of their most iconic model(s). There is no not-911 badged as a 911 when it could just as easily stand alone with it's own name. GM is just dumb enough to follow Ford's example, despite Mach E being a fine name in its own right, but that has not yet progressed beyond rumor and speculation... If they do, it will be met with equal derision and mockery. A much more appropriate heritage name for a Corvette adjacent sporty crossover would be Nomad.Well why not? Vette and Porsche have variants.
