I might be in the running. Thursday, Apr 24, 2025 at 7:40 PM is when I received my "BOOM. Reservation confirmed." email.
That must have been Pacific time. It was too late for me to stay up for the reveal but ordered at 6a EDT the following day when I got to my office.

I didn't watch the reveal event live, I caught it a couple hours later and put in a reservation while watching at 11pm eastern. I'm sure I'm still nowhere near the first here, haha.

While I do wish I had been on the "1st-day train" (more for bragging rights than anything else), I suspect there's a high probability I will still be included in the same delivery windows as the day-oners (fingers crossed). Looking forward to the "updated" stats once folks are able to order.

Like several have already mentioned, I think there will be many that do want to convert their reservation to an order but the timing is not right.

I wonder what will happen if not enough people that they offer the first delivery window to pull the trigger. Are people that pulled the trigger on the 2nd delivery window going to advance to the 1st?

I do think this is our fastest growing thread ever.

Likely scenario, 2nd tier get unexpected email offering earlier delivery. Much better than being a 1st tier that gets over sold and getting a delayed delivery email.

According to their news article there’s a public event at Warsaw per the June 22 announcement. Perhaps we’ll get some more insight into delivery dates.
Do you actually get to drive the truck at any of these public events or do you only get to walk round it while being told all about it?
I've never bought a car in my life without a test drive first.

I haven't seen anyone at the public events being allowed to drive; and some events they weren't even allowed to sit inside the vehicle. There may be others, but the only "consumer" I've seen driving a Slate on the open road was Jay Leno. I would hope to see that change though as we near June-July order window, as many buyers won't commit without a test-drive. I'm still buying sight-unseen, but I'm willing to take the risk 🤞

They have not had any test drive events. The trucks at them so far have been prototypes, and rough in some ways. They started with letting people sit in them, but people were abusive of the privilege. It has been stated that test drives are coming, it would be nice if they had a bunch of test drive events all over in the first month that orders open, but if they have test drivable trucks to do that they are keeping it secret.
I may go ahead and put the full deposit down without a test drive, but at the least I'd like to SEE and be able to sit in a production line truck, so I may wait until the end of the order window.

Looking back, I’d say I’ve test driven most of the used vehicles bought in my life, not test driven most of the new vehicles. I think there was very likely different decision points.

I would be happy to pay more to advance to an earlier delivery window. I mean I can commit more of the purchase price earlier, like "cash in hand," but not pay for a markup. 🤩

Back in the world of ICE cars, the OCD folks are stockpiling full synthetic oil (mainly 0w20 and 5w30). With 5 jugs of 5 quarts and 6 filters, I am set for six to eight months. Looking forward to a life without OCI and sample analysis.

My reservation was put in on the second day, but in the morning after release, less than 15 hours after Slate was announced. I don't remember where I first heard about it, I think it was the commercial for the Taxider-My-Family YouTube video. Then the Cat care commercial, then the exotic meats commercial, etc. Was this played on TV channels? I don't remember for sure. I did see all the info on April 24, but reserved the next morning.

I remember seeing the first leaked photos of a prototype on a flatbed. I sent it to a fellow freak with the caption "SINGLE CAB TRUCK ALERT!!!"
