If I had the choice between one and the other, I would pay more for a truck without all the "tech".

With my 2022 Bronco, I have turned off all the tech (modem is turned off) and it works fine. I need the TV screen to use the radio, but that will be the Slate too with its BYOD.

I have a bicycle you might be interested in, priced accordingly. Can even include a little red wagon. 😆

So when is the sale date?

Jeep, Slate, Scout…

Tesla is so confused they don’t know what to sell their only truck for.

$120k, $99k, 79k, $69k, $59k, etc.

Don’t know what truck to wait for, or just get the CT?

I note that pricing on the Rivian R2 is expected on March 12. The company has said deliveries will start in June (I have heard one YouTube claim early deliveries starting April). So pricing will be announced 3 months before deliveries - that makes Slate look premature in announcing in June (I'm assuming Dec deliveries - maybe they'll start earlier)
Looking forward to the big reveal on Thursday 🤞

A thought about Slate being too expensive for a small truck. If Slate achieves 5 star safety rating, that alone will set it apart. The fact that the battery pack is liquid cooled/heated is huge. It is what makes the difference between the old Nissan Leaf and a Tesla. Keep in mind that there are those bashing Slate and other EVs who have another agenda.

In truth, every new EV sold today has a liquid cooled battery. The Santa Cruz has a 5-star safety rating from NHTSA, and is a top safety pick by the IIHS. The Maverick gets 4 stars, but isn't a top pick.

We all can make educated guesses on what the real price will be. But I'll say, we all know the original sales price was $7,500 less than what it will be. So, if anyone is still in with a $7,500 price increase and still sees value of a stripped EV with 2-doors, a few thousand +/- $25K shouldn't be much a factor in the decision making.
The 7500 was a tax credit, so the original price was always in the mid-twenties.

Hello McFly, Tesla marked up their Cybertruck for only millionaires (price gouging) or demand.

$120k, $99k, 79k, $59k and still not selling 250k a year, no demand, no five year waiting list.

Do not believe demand will be high for these in similar circumstances.

Right. For more than a month I've been saying the sub-$20K number was a subsidized price.

FYI, Slate is not a 4 door.
