The other day I was curious about how many members the Slate forum were from the Phoenix area. Somehow I was able to get a membership list in a spreadsheet form and copied the info. Using Apple’s Numbers program I did a search for Phoenix, AZ, Arizona, and found that people were entering their location in a number of different ways and I found this made creating a report difficult. I live in Buckeye and I saw others in Glendale, Peoria, Tempe, Scottsdale and a whole lot of just AZ or Arizona (big state).

My purpose in gathering this data is to notify Slate that we have X number of people in the Phoenix area that would be interested in having them come somewhere in the Phoenix area for a Slate event. I will be posting a new thread, Phoenix Meat and Great and those willing to come to an event to respond with a YES. I am relatively new to Arizona so if you have any suggestions as to where this might take place, please add location.

I encourage other state members to do the same.

Depends on what time of the year. Maybe December when it's not so hot, or what month wouldn't be best?

You need to edit your spelling of "meat and great".

Yeah... it's a different connotation, altogether.

I was gonna say no since I'm in Michigan. But if there's a "Meat n Great".....I'm in ! Sounds like BBQ n Slate. You may have accidentally created this year's Slate tour theme.

This topic starts me thinking that once deliveries start, likely in batches by state/general location (according to speculation on this forum), I think there would be an appetite 😋 for "Meat and Great" events for new Slate Truck owners... perhaps self organized or an extension of the Slate Tour concept with real examples of new vehicles and their owners, to benefit current owners and generate interest for potential new orders, plus help existing order and reservation holders consider accessories (and stay interested in waiting for their deliveries).

I think this could make sense. Depending how Slate does deliveries, but suppose a loaded truck is scheduled to arrive a particular location. Depending that location, I could imagine there being a time window to pick them up, perfect opportunity for organizing a gettogether

Your suggestion is a good one...and would be a greet way (lol) to begin a "Slate Owner's Club." There are a number of enthusiast car clubs that sponsor local events, e.g. TOC - Tesla Owners Club, BMW CCA, PCA for Porsche, Corvette Club of America, etc.

It's just fascinating that the Slate Owner's Club would have the perfect acronym, SOC as in State of Charge!

I think one thing that will be unique about the Slate is that aside from those keeping to the basic grey Slate, every single one will probably be different. If you got 50 Slate owners together, each one would probably have a different color or arrangement of wraps, besides those who leave it grey or go full white or black. This is without being some kind of mod club where people are spending tens of thousands on mods and custom paint.

I’m hopeful there is a very active online presence for all types of mods. I hope to contribute.
