What level of DIY are you planning for your Slate?

I'm going to go full nerd with the DIY if they're going to really embrace the maker community.
  • Vehicle tracking that'll sends data to a private server.
  • Design and cut my own vinyl.
  • A single board computer (SBC) like a Raspberry Pi connected to a display. Hopefully they'll let you tap into that CAN bus too.

As others have said, for me it’s kind of all of the above. I plan to customize everything, especially if the community grows the way other car communities have in the past. Collectively, this forum as been a huge source of important conversations imo. If we have even more people testing, tinkering, and customizing their Slates, there will be a lot of cool stuff for people to learn from and iterate on.

I have a long list of ideas already and that’s with only seeing the truck a couple times and being inside once. If it was sitting in my driveway right now I’d be constantly trying to come up with DIY improvements and learning the limits of what I take on myself versus what I need to pay someone to do for me.
