Donutlab.com is up. Must have fixed it.Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
This announcement will be pounced on like a rabbit in the middle of a pack of hungry wolves. If it's the world's best ever April Fools joke, we'll know really soon.
BTW, the video link on the Donut Labs website has already been hacked to redirect to a video game commercial. Not promising. Also, they released zero technical details. Compare to QuantumScape and others who have published exhaustive test results and samples.
I ain't getting excited until Sandy Munro tears it apart and says "Hmmmph" in an approving manner.
True, it is somewhat dismaying how many of the EV news sites are just copy pasting Donut's press information as though it is fact. If you can just say anything and know that it will get repeated 1000 times without challenge, then what is the motivation to be truthful?Something I've riffed on for years about the EV industry; it's really hart to be completely honest when you know exactly what your audience wants to hear.
The real problem is the EV battery development companies. They have been promising the ultimate unobtainium solid state EV battery for nearly 20 years now. Some prospective buyers on the fence of adopting the EV keep waiting. And waiting. The two prevailing chemistries now in use are going to be what we are going to get for the foreseeable future because the cost to develop the minerals supply chain, build and tool the battery factories has not yet been amortized.
This guy has an interesting take that agrees with you, and gives some background to the company that supports it.It's a supercapacitor.
I watched this video last night, becuase I, too, am skeptical. This guy has an interesting take that agrees with you, and gives some background to the company that supports it.
Ok was poking around a bit and found a video unrelated but has the same guy by the looks of it
