Do not mess with the basic Slate at least 5 years, maybe more. Grt it established, an icon. Concentrate on more kits, add on’s etc compatible with all.

I don't expect Slate to change the truck every year. That would defeat the entire concept. The only real upgrade will be the battery... as soon as scientists decode the next shipment of recovered alien technology. 👽
Lol the solid slate wait no the solid snake slate (metal gear music booms loudly) I suspect awd and battery upgrade next unless they decide to make a different vehicle i assume in 3 to 5 years depending on profits and the like

I'm loading up my Slate with plenty of upgrades, but I think I'm going to hold off on the audio system and dash/console accessories. I have a feeling the first year is going to belong to the aftermarket. Companies will be racing to solve all the little things owners want—radios, speakers, center consoles, dash designs, storage, speaker mounts, and more. I expect we'll see some really innovative products by the beginning of next year. My delivery window isn't until 2027 anyway, so there's no rush.

I think we will see a lot of that before we even get a chance to get the truck. What we are seeing so far is just what companies had designs ready for at this point. A lot of the companies we aren't seeing yet, if they think Slate has a chance at decent sales, and the number of conversions points to that, will be getting designs in before the end of the year. Some of them were probably already working on them and just didn't have them finalized and prototypes produced by the June 24th date.

Not to dampen your spirit here but I strongly doubt there will be much third-party support at the beginning of this (or any) product's life. Some things take a long time to get going and be profitable enough for a market to establish & grow. Not saying it won't happen, just it'll take time.

The more Slate trucks are out there with owners willing to customize, the larger the customer base.

I’m not sure if they will do a different model. Part of the business model is the accessories and the models over the years need to be similar for them to optimize the flexibility of those.

However if they do a second model I expect that it will be a van style that allows for sliding, conventional, or no doors. This would allow more traditional van, crossover, and cargo uses.

Assuming of course that the Blank Slate is successful enough to spawn a second model, because of course it will be, what makes sense for Slate the company to build for their second model?
2 door truck with a 6' ft bed. Longer range battery and more hauling capacity. Maybe AWD? With a camper shell.

If you're going to do the engineering to extend the bed to 6', may as well also do 8' at the same time. Another two feet of battery could mean sodium-ion is viable. Or 50% more range. Or more towing capacity.
